Z X SCIENCE BASED TARGETS

Our journey towards net-zero emissions

In 2021, ZIMMERMANN announced its near-term GHG emissions reduction targets, which were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additional information about our near-term targets can be found here.

In the same year, the company also committed to setting a long-term target to reach net-zero emissions by no later than 2050.

In line with this commitment, we are proud to announce that ZIMMERMANN's long-term and overall net-zero GHG emissions reduction targets have been approved by the SBTi.

Our Science-based targets:

  • ZIMMERMANN commits to reduce 90% absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by FY2050 from a FY2020 base year. ZIMMERMANN also commits to reduce 90% absolute scope 3 GHG emissions within the same timeframe (Long Term Target).
  • ZIMMERMANN commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by FY2050 (Overall Net-Zero Target).
  • Zimmermann commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by FY2030 from a FY2020 base year. Zimmermann also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and upstream transportation and distribution 30% within the same timeframe (Near Term Targets).

To achieve these targets, direct emissions reductions (decarbonization) will be prioritized, and all residual emissions will be neutralized (if applicable) in line with the SBTi criteria before reaching net-zero emissions.

Our focus areas and action plans for reducing emissions are outlined in our GHG Emissions Policy

ZIMMERMANN’s progress towards its targets and commitments is outlined in our annual Sustainability Report, available on our website.
