THE MAKING OF
THE WAVELENGTH FRINGED GOWN

Creative Director Nicky Zimmermann reflects on her creative process while designing the Wavelength Fringed Gown in the lead up to the Spring 2020 show:
"The Spring Collection is called Wavelength and this is actually one of my favourite looks from the show. We love working with texture and for this season we wanted to punctuate the show with a series of fresh, white and delicate looks. The embroidery is a white cotton tape that is stitched together to form delicate flowers - these were then placed specifically on the silhouette of this dress.
It was important for us that the detailing was not only beautiful to the eye, but reflected a relaxed surf vibe at the same time. So we took inspiration from those gorgeous string shell curtains that you’d see in a cool old beach shack. Think that feeling of having to part the way with your hands as you walk into the room. We thought it was a cute way to incorporate the mood of the season and create a dress that has beautiful movement. For us its always about the details.
Why did we chose Mayowa to wear this look? She has walked for us in many of our shows and we had her in mind for this look from the beginning. She’s incredibly beautiful but brings a real power to a look. She’s so cool."
