Z x Adelaide
Now open in Adelaide, South Australia
ZIMMERMANN is pleased to announce the relocation of its Adelaide boutique to the city’s leading luxury retail destination — Burnside Village.
Designed by long-term collaborators, Studio McQualter, a rich textural dialogue invites a closer look. The façade combines rendered walls with custom white gloss ceramic tiles, set against new galvanised steel entry doors. In one of the windows, a rare 1970s floor lamp by Franz T. Sartori for Stilux Italy, and an owl sculpture by Australian artist Peter Cooley sit in harmony.
Inside, deep red terrazzo grounds the main retail rooms, its hue mirrored in twin high-gloss display tables. Fabric pendants drift above, while sandblasted stainless-steel rails line the walls with the collection. Small gestures of intrigue punctuate the space: a green stone-topped niche hosts a 1970s French hand-carved sculpture, adding a note of intimacy.
The second retail space centres on accessories. Here, handbags are displayed in custom settings, including a cupboard reimagined as a lightbox with striped green and white fabric doors. Two adjoining spaces shift the mood, with green and cream checkerboard terrazzo underfoot. Italian brass leaf sconces frame the transition into the lounge.
In the lounge, finely textured white render wraps walls and ceiling, anchored by an ornamental fireplace. Seating is layered with character — vintage armchairs by Percival Lafer paired with Le Corbusier LC3s. From here, velvet-trimmed linen curtains draw clients toward the fitting rooms, balancing tactility with restraint.
